Friday was homecoming for Our Lady of Lourdes High School.

The term “homecoming” likely meant a little more to Joe Scaglione, who missed the first three weeks of the football season with a broken arm.

Scaglione returned with a vengeance, scoring two touchdowns to help lift the Warriors past visiting Hendrick Hudson, 54-19.

The victory evened the Warriors’ record at 2-2.

“We really improved as a team,” Lourdes coach Brian Walsh said. “I was very proud.  We had a pretty good game plan and the kids executed it well.”

The Sailors scored the game’s first touchdown, but the Warriors didn’t panic. Jaheim Jones answered with a 73-yard touchdown carry. Jones finished with 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Likewise, Scaglione was a force on the ground. He amassed 155 yards on 20 carries. Sean McDowell added two touchdown runs, as the Warriors totaled 416 rushing yards.

Defensively, Pat O’Donoghue and Estefano Rendon brought interceptions back for touchdowns.

“We really put pressure on them, which was key,” Walsh said. “I thought our defense played outstanding. We won the turnover battle, which is always big, and we controlled the clock. I thought we took some big strides forward, as a team.”

Lourdes visits Armonk to take on Byram Hills at 3 p.m. on Oct. 1.
